My work and interests span a wide range. After many years as a fashion & beauty photographer, I have shot in many different studio and location environments and all kinds of lighting.
Most of my work was about creating a mood, which is the main part of fashion and music shoots. With business headshots and portraits, I worked to make my clients look totally professional and at the top of their games.
I’ve shot many dogs, sometimes alone, sometimes with their human guardians. I do several each day while walking my beloved Augie.
I’ve shot many thousands of actors and models, including many total beginners for their agencies. I’m good at helping them get started with moods, attitudes, and poses that will add sparkle to their images. I’ve done many advertising, editorial, and catalog assignments.
My more than 30 years of professional experience prepares me to deal with whatever comes up, overcoming obstacles and exploiting opportunities to create outstanding images. Bringing ideas to shoots is just as important as bringing photo equipment.
Awards, honors and recognition
I've won awards for creative excellence and won some photo contests. In the beginning of my career, in 1988, I took a fashion photography course at Parsons College in NYC. I tied for first place.

I met John Manning when I was the Agency Director for John Cassablacas in North Brook, Illinois. I wanted the models I was working with to have an updated portfolio. I loved John's work and he revamped all the looks and portfolios of the top models that I was managing at the time. After having spent half of my life in the business; I branched out on my own and opened Chicago Model Search, Inc. with offices in Chicago, Illinois USA and Bangkok, Thailand. John was the creative director for Chicago Model Search. John also flew into my office in Bangkok, Thailand. Hard working, smart, professional and for what you get John's prices are very reasonable! My wife was a model and John took her headshots. Ok maybe I'm a tad partial, but some of the pics look like front page cosmopolitan photos. I am a dentist, John did my employee's
headshots. We are all extremely happy with the results. FYI I use my wife Headshots as logo recognition for my business.
