From the time that I was very young, I've only ever had two career aspirations: to become a pilot or a photographer. I took my very portrait photo at the age of 5, of my parents on the beach in Hawaii. There's nothing technically right about this photo, but it's the most treasured image I have. It captured a very special moment that I will never forget, thanks to the photo. Because photography has always been so personal to me - that's the reason why it won out over doing something that was more mechanical, and without feelings. For me, things to do with the heart will always win out. That's why I love being a wedding & portrait photographer. The role fits me like a glove, and has ever since that very first photo taken on the beach, so many years ago.
Awards, honors and recognition
Early on in my photography career, I won several regional and national awards for advertising photography, which were submitted by the art director's and agencies that I worked for. But I'm most proud of the relationships that I've made with the couple's who's weddings I've photographed. And I would much rather let my work and the reviews that I've received, speak for themselves.
A fun fact about me
I was a helicopter rescue crewman and aerial sonar operator in the U.S. Navy. My time spent in the military has provided me with many interesting and exciting life experiences that I am truly grateful for.

I'm always evaluating the gear that's available, but the technology has come so far that each photographer's equipment choice is almost irrelevant. It matters, but what matters more is what you do with the gear that you have. So the emphasis should be on the skillset of the photographer, and not which camera or lens they use. That is what sets us apart, because many of us are using similar gear, yet our results are quite different.
