40 Years of experience

Unlike so many photographers, it seems, I have no compelling story about having wanted to be a photographer since I was able to walk. I recall always wanting to take pictures with my parents' Kodak Instamatic, but I wouldn't say that it's what led me to where I am today.

I made it through high school in the Toledo, Ohio area, worked in a factory (you might be familiar with Calphalon Cookware ~ it wasn't called that then), then decided to go to Bowling Green State University. At first, I thought I would major in art (I liked it well enough and thought I was reasonably good at drawing), but ended up in journalism. One of the core courses was Intro to Visual Communications Technology. It seemed to fit like the proverbial glove.

From there, the story takes several turns, involving marriage, children, divorce, folk music, Flickr, and Paris, but ultimately, it winds up here, in San Francisco, a city that could fall down at any minute.

I do portraits and corporate events, products, performance, and editorial assignments. I travel beyond the one hundred miles as indicated in my profile. My rates vary from job to job. Please ask for a quote.

I'm vegan and generally of good spirit.
