About me
I owe much of my photographic skills to the years I have spent doing wedding photography. When you hire a wedding photographer, you essentially get several photographers in one. Every wedding requires PRODUCT photography of the details, FAMILY style photography of groups in various poses, PORTRAIT photography β formal, environmental, and close up, PHOTOJOURNALISM capturing candid moments, EVENT photography during the reception, and REAL ESTATE photography for the venue. The skills needed for these various types of photography are advanced camera and flash techniques, posing and people skills, and a natural photographic eye β another way of saying understanding good composition, lighting, and subject matter. But, perhaps the most important is creativity. Creativity is what keeps the photographer fresh, and delivers photos that are vibrant and alive. The creative process is very important to my well being. I love photography because it has unlimited creative potential.A fun fact about me
In California, I worked as a drummer. One time I was hired by a band that had lost their drummer just before their first gig, a poolside event at a popular club in the Santa Cruz Mountains. They did not tell me that the pool was bathing suits optional. That gig took a lot of concentration to keep from missing a beat. At the end of the night: "Well, are you in, or out?" "Are you playing here again?" "In two weeks." "I'm in!"
